Happy Halloween!

It's that time of year again! The evenings are getting lovely and dark, the weather is turning cold and my fave day of the year is fast approaching....Halloween!

Being an avid admirer of all things slightly odd and quirky, weird and spooky...Halloween is right up my street. Usually at this time of the year I am in full-on Halloween obsessed mode. Everything from creating a full on cardboard cut-out grave yard for my front garden, to an intricate woven spider web filling my living room ceiling. Even my and Matt's wedding was gothic steampunk meets Tim Burton. (Best day ever by the way!)

But hey, Halloween 2020 is a whole different ball game right?

So my task this week, besides designing a great range of websites for some fab new clients, is to come up with a whole variety of Halloween activities that the kids can do instead of our usual Halloween party. Luckily Pinterest is full of ideas to help me out. I'm thinking pumpkin faces, slime making, witches potions and scary cake making. Sounds perfect right!? Or does it sound like I am in for a weekend of Pinterest fails? I fear it may be the latter!

But hey as long as the kids have fun in the process, then I'm happy!

So whilst I was frantically looking for ideas for the Halloween craft weekend I happened upon some great Halloween imagery, so I just had to start (another) Halloween image folder on my desktop for inspiration. Mostly based around Burton-esque drawings and shapes.

But what exactly am I to do with all of these images? I have tons of image inspiration folders on my desktop, which I dip in and out of for design inspiration. Especially useful for colour and typography inspiration for creating our website designs.

My original plan was to create a Pinterest board as reference points for all my design work. But I fear adding all these to Pinterest would indeed become a full time job in itself. Not a chance with my busy business and 2 toddlers running riot! So the best thing for the time being, is to keep using them as inspirational references for our pay monthly website design and logo design. I always think the more you build on collections like this, the broader reference you have to draw inspiration from, so the stronger your design work turns out. An we do love fantastic design results here at Lollipop Rocks.

If you are looking for some inspiration for your website design or logo design, talk to us. We have tons of inspiration, and we love talking to prospective clients! Our pay monthly website design packages cover a range of website styles and we're sure we have a package that will work for you. We love a design challenge, so get in touch.

Right, I'm off to use my lunch break to freeze baking powder skull shapes. Yep, entertaining toddlers is even more work than running your own business!
