Starting a business in the middle of a pandemic.
Good idea? We think so! Although it does depend on what the nature of your business is of course.
As we are a well aware, there are an awful lot of businesses struggling through this pandemic. Lots of businesses have had to close down, lots have had to streamline their workforces and their product offering. It has not been a great time for a lot of existing businesses.
However, I have been reading recently about a lot of successful new business start ups. And let me tell you, with everything that is going on in the world right now, it makes a refreshing change to read about something good coming out of this situation we find ourselves in.
From tie dye t-shirts to brownie boxes, toy stores to supper clubs, there has been a large range of business success stories on a variety of scales. It is inspiring to read about these people! I imagine it takes a lot of determination and willpower to make a new business thrive in these turbulent times. Here at Lollipop Rocks, we are really proud of those people who are going out there and defying the odds to succeed! Good on you!
I suppose new businesses can start up with the pandemic in mind, work around it or even use it to their advantage. If you build your business around the pandemic, you already have a head start on businesses which have had to restructure their working practises to adapt to the pandemic.
There may also be a lot of people out there deciding on a career change because of their current working circumstances. And setting up a new business is a great way to do that.
